Children are reportedly showing signs of depression and other negative     behavior at school, including primary school level. 3. Crime, teen suicides, substance abuse and violence – the fruits of destructive     thinking patterns and emotional disorder - are on the increase at schools. 4. There is a need to empower children with emotional intelligence - basic life     coping skills as the majority of the future generation are reared in     dysfunctional family situations. 5. The EI example which young minds are currently learning from i.e. parents,     peers, educators, the media, etc is often undeveloped and negative. 6.
